New Home Sales in the US fell by 6.6% on a monthly basis in June to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 676,000, the data published jointly by the US Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development showed on Monday. This reading missed the market expectation for an increase of 3.5% by a wide margin and followed May'sdecline of 7.8%.
"The median sales price of new houses sold in June 2021 was $361,800," the publication further revealed. "The average sales price was $428,700."
Market reaction
This report was largely ignored by market participants and the US Dollar Index was last seen losing 0.3% on a daily basis at 92.65.
