New Home Sales in the US fell by 5.9% on a monthly basis in May to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 769,000, the data published jointly by the US Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development showed on Wednesday. This reading followed April's decline of 7.8%.
"The median sales price of new houses sold in May 2021 was $374,400," the publication read. "The average sales price was $430,600."
Market reaction
This report was largely ignored by market participants and the US Dollar Index was last seen losing 0.2% on a daily basis at 91.52.
