Housing Starts in the US rose by 3.9% on a monthly basis in August after declining by 7% in July, the data published jointly by the US Census Bureau and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development showed on Tuesday.
Further details of the publication revealed that Building Permits, which was up 2.3% in July, increased by 6% in August.
Market reaction
These figures don't seem to be having a significant impact on the USD's performance against its rivals. As of writing, the US Dollar Index was down 0.11% on the day at 93.12.
