Core Liquidity Markets (CLMarkets) is a multi-asset online brokerage. Day traders can invest in 100+ instruments including forex, indices, stocks, cryptocurrencies, and commodities. This 2022 review will cover the fee structure, MT4 download, mobile app, account types, opening hours, and more. Find out whether our experts recommend signing up with CLMarkets.

Company Details

Core Liquidity Markets is a trading name of CLMarkets Ltd. Established in 2013, the trading broker serves over 100,000 clients in more than 100 countries, from the UK and Germany to Canada and Hong Kong.

CLMarkets offers competitive trading conditions to retail traders, including ultra-fast executions of less than 40ms, 24/6 customer support, plus tight spreads and low or zero commissions.

A selection of free signals and robots, along with live educational materials, also makes the broker popular with beginner traders.

CLMarkets is registered in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines where it holds a license with the Financial Services Authority (SVGFSA).

CLMarkets offers just one platform; MetaTrader 4. The MT4 terminal is available to download to Windows and Mac devices or can be used as a web-based profile. The platform is suitable for beginners and experienced traders, with a high degree of customizability.

You can live stream the latest news or view market changes within the platform. Additionally, you can stay up to date with mergers, dividend history, and their impact on share value, plus view YTD company performance via custom charts and graphs. Other features include:

CLMarkets offers 100+ global instruments:

Trade a curated assortment of 10 company stocks including Apple, Tesla, and Amazon
Speculate on the price of four precious metals and energies including gold, silver, oil and gas
Trade on nine of the world’s largest stock indices including the S&P500, FTSE100, and Germany40

Invest in seven popular digital currency coins with USD crosses, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin

Note, the broker does not provide futures, binary options, or ETF trading.

Spreads & Fees

Our experts found that fees vary depending on the account type and instrument. The Standard profile follows a commission-free model with flexible spreads from 1.2 pips. The EUR/GBP currency pair is offered at 1.9 pips and the EUR/USD pair at 1.2 pips. A minimum deposit of $100 is required to get started with this profile.

The Core Liquidity Markets ECN account offers raw spreads from 0.0 pips, with a commission of $3.50 per side. The average spread for the EUR/GBP forex pair is 0.9 pips while the US 30 index is available at 2.2 points. A $500 minimum deposit is required to get started with the ECN account.

There are no inactivity fees but swap charges may apply to overnight positions.

CLMarkets Leverage

As an offshore brokerage, day traders can access substantial margin trading opportunities. The maximum leverage available across all account types is 1:500. Applying the highest leverage would mean a $100 deposit will provide traders with $50,000 in purchasing power.

Users can amend the leverage level from within the client portal. Traders can also implement various risk management strategies on MT4 to limit potential losses.

Mobile App Review

When we used CLMarkets, our experts were disappointed to see no proprietary mobile app is offered. With that said, the MT4 terminal can be downloaded to mobiles, available on iOS and Android (APK) devices.

The MT4 app offers most of the features and services found on the desktop platform. This means you can manage your profile, invest in assets, view financial statements, check live global prices, and analyze charts while on the go. Push notifications, one-click trading, and in-app chats are also available.

Reviews on the Apple App Store are positive, with a 4.8 out of 5-star rating.

Payment Methods

Deposits

To make a deposit, sign in to the client portal using your registered credentials. Select ’Transfers’ and choose your funding method. Deposit options may vary by country, but international payments can be made via Visa or Mastercard credit/debit cards, bank wire transfers, Bitcoin, Neteller, and Skrill.

A $20 to $45 fee applies for bank wire transfers, however, the broker waives charges for alternative payment solutions, including Neteller and Skrill. Exchange rate charges may also apply if you are depositing in a currency other than your account base currency (USD/EUR/GBP).

Withdrawals

Withdrawals must be processed via the original deposit method. To request a fund removal, log in to your client portal and select the ‘Withdraw Funds’ icon. Choose the withdrawal amount and method, and then click ‘Confirm’.

Clients are permitted to withdraw the full balance of their trading account at any time – there are no maximum restrictions. CLMarkets also processes all withdrawal requests within 24 hours, though the time taken for funds to clear will vary depending on the payment method. Weekend dates and public holidays may cause delays.

Fees range between 1% and 2% depending on the solution.

Demo Account

Core Liquidity Markets offers a 30-day demo profile. The simulated account allows day traders to test the platform’s speed and functionality, plus gain access to real-time spreads. Users can also watch how examples of trades would play out under live market conditions. Keeping a simplified list of successful and unsuccessful trades, or using a journal, can help prepare traders for real-money investing.

Once the time limit has passed, investors that open a live profile gain access to Trader’s Edge, which is a full resource hub with various tools, strategies, and further guidance.

Bonuses & Promotions

While using CLMarkets, we were not offered any bonus incentives or online promo codes. Nonetheless, the broker does promote an ‘invite a friend’ program, with weekly rewards of $10 available for referring friends or family.

As with all financial incentives, trading games, or the chance to buy discounted stocks or assets, always review the terms and conditions.

Regulation & Licensing

Core Liquidity Markets Limited is registered in St Vincent and the Grenadines and is regulated by the Financial Services Authority (SVGFSA). Our experts confirmed incorporation in May 2018 and found an active regulatory registration under the trading name CLMarkets Limited, license number 24750.

Although it is good to the broker holds a regulatory license, this financial agency provides limited oversight with relatively relaxed joining requirements. As a result, day traders may not receive an adequate level of support or protection vs brokers overseen by top-tier financial bodies, such as the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) or the Cyprus Securities & Exchange Commission (CySEC).

CLMarkets Additional Features

Core Liquidity Markets offers several additional features and resources, including an economic calendar and blog forum. Day traders with live profiles also get exclusive access to Trader’s Edge. This is a full resource center suited to investors of all experience levels, with step-by-step trade setup videos, professional robots, weekly trade ideas, newsletters, and a catalog of educational content, including ’how to’ guides, understanding share price quotes, and forecast predictions using market history and trends.

In addition, investors can make use of ForexAnalytix with no fees. This is a comprehensive analysis tool that identifies high-probability chart patterns and flags any major changes in macro data on a daily basis.

The brokerage also offers weekly market reports with insights into the meaning of trade volumes, dividend yields, investor relations, and more.

DupliTrade

Additionally, CLMarkets provides access to DupliTrade. This user-friendly platform allows clients to copy the actions and trades of expert investors directly in their real-money account.

Retail traders can choose from a variety of systems, select a risk appetite and determine how personal capital is allocated within a portfolio. Positions can be controlled and monitored in real-time, including amending a strategy or closing out a position. You can also view pre-defined strategies before committing funds. This includes a full profile of characteristics and a wealth of performance statistics.

When we tested the CLMarkets DupliTrade terminal, we were impressed with how easy it was to compare strategies and view projected results using pre-defined criteria.

Note, you must fund a CLMarkets live account with at least $2,000 to gain access to DupliTrade.

DupliTrade

Account Types

CLMarkets offers two accounts to day traders. Both profiles provide access to all trading instruments, one-click executions, and a stop-out level of 50%. USD, GBP, and EUR account denominations are accepted.

The key difference between the two profiles is the pricing structure. The Standard account offers commission-free investing with floating spreads, whereas the ECN profile provides raw spreads with a commission per trade. The ECN profile also offers high-speed executions and a 99% fill rate.

Trading Hours

CLMarkets trading hours vary by instrument. The forex market, for example, is open 24 hours per day between Sunday and Friday.

It is worth viewing the published session timetable via the broker’s terminal interface. This can help you stay up to date with market breaks and holidays.

An economic calendar is also available with scheduled dates of daily events and upcoming news publications. This includes announcements across the London, UK and New York City, USA sessions.

Customer Service

The CLMarkets customer support options are industry-standard. The broker offers an email address (support@clmforex.com), an online contact form, and a telephone number (+442035146538). The customer support team and managers can answer questions for traders based in various locations, from Europe to Jamaica, Korea, Kenya, Qatar and Zimbabwe.

An adequate self-help FAQ section can also be found on the provider’s website. The page is categorized into key categories, including accounts, deposits & withdrawals, trading, and MT4. Alternatively, visit the group’s social media channels, such as Twitter and Facebook, for the latest news and updates.

Our experts were disappointed to find no live chat service integrated within the website, though a WhatsApp chat service is available.

Safety & Security

There is limited evidence of consumer safeguarding schemes or negative balance protection. Nonetheless, the MT4 platform is secure, operating with industry-standard encryption, and offering various security settings, including two-factor authentication (2FA) at login.

Still, be cautious of scams, particularly when investing with offshore brokers.

Core Liquidity Markets Verdict

When we used the services offered by CLMarkets, we were pleased with the choice of live accounts and pricing structures, the DupliTrade copy trading service, plus Trader’s Edge. The only major drawbacks are the limited regulatory oversight and lack of negative balance protection.

New users can get started with a $100 or $500 minimum deposit. Alternatively, sign up for the free demo account.
